Africa At The World Cup History Preview (Chapter 5 - 2006 World Cup)

The African representation in 2006 was unique as all teams except 1 were debutants. Togo flopped as off field issues disrupted the team, Tunisia did not fare well, Ivory Coast were introduced however did not progress and Angola, overcoming Nigeria played in a group which included their colonizers. Ghana was the only team to advance to the knockout stages in their debut, however they lost to a mighty Brazil, preventing them from moving on to the quarter finals.
