Ethiopia and Liberia were the only 2 African nations to never be colonized. Liberia's independence was due to its affiliation with America, however Ethiopia was able to successfully defend itself against Italy and gained sovereignty. However Italy came back in 1936 and occupied Ethiopia, but was not able to remain long enough to colonize the nation. But what if things played out differently earlier in time and Italy colonized Ethiopia? So what if Italy colonized Ethiopia? FACT : Italy was obliged to pay $25 million to Ethiopia in war reparations.
